About Valiant Psychiatry
Valiant Psychiatry was founded by Dr. Hugo Gomez to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. Dr. Gomez earned his medical degree from the University of Montemorelos in Nuevo León, Mexico in 2009, followed by a Master of Science (2012) and Doctorate in Biotechnology (2015) from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.
After immigrating to the United States in 2016 in pursuit of greater opportunities, Dr. Gomez gained valuable experience in psychiatric research before completing all four USMLE board examinations. He matched into the psychiatry residency program at the University of New Mexico in 2019 and became board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in September 2023.
Dr. Gomez has since practiced psychiatry across diverse settings, including inpatient and outpatient care, geriatrics, addiction, child and adolescent services, emergency psychiatry, and general adult psychiatry.

Our Approach
Our approach is supportive, and sharing the decision of your treatment, throughout your first and multiple longitudinal assessments. The treatment will be an integrative approach, offering you what you truly need since the first visit.
