A practice built on compassion and care
We understand that reaching out for psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, and we’re here to make the process feel safe and supportive. At Valiant, you’re never just a patient — you’re a person with a unique story, deserving of care that respects your individuality.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide honest, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health care you can depend on — care that supports you throughout your journey to healing, growth, and lasting well-being.
Our Philosophy
What we believe in
Learning about you and understanding your story without judgment. We take the time to truly hear what you're going through, because good care starts with feeling genuinely understood.
Explaining your options clearly, so you feel empowered. We believe you deserve straightforward answers, not jargon, so you can make informed decisions about your own care with confidence.
We never rush your treatment and always focus on what's truly best for you. Every decision we make is guided by your individual needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Meet Dr. Hugo Gomez
Valiant Psychiatry was founded by Dr. Hugo Gomez to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. Dr. Gomez earned his medical degree from the University of Montemorelos in Nuevo León, Mexico in 2009, followed by a Master of Science (2012) and Doctorate in Biotechnology (2015) from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.
After immigrating to the United States in 2016 in pursuit of greater opportunities, Dr. Gomez gained valuable experience in psychiatric research before completing all four USMLE board examinations. He matched into the psychiatry residency program at the University of New Mexico in 2019 and became board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in September 2023.
Dr. Gomez has since practiced psychiatry across diverse settings, including inpatient and outpatient care, geriatrics, addiction, child and adolescent services, emergency psychiatry, and general adult psychiatry.
